2022 Great 8 Inductee
Who Are The Great 8?
The Great 8 is a distinguished honor presented by the Connecticut Hall of Change, recognizing formerly incarcerated leaders who have made powerful, visible contributions to their communities. Inductees are selected based on demonstrated impact, integrity, and sustained leadership across fields such as education, advocacy, public service, and community development.
The Great 8 designation highlights individuals whose lives reflect accountability, transformation, and service, elevating voices that challenge stereotypes and reshape narratives around justice, opportunity, and leadership. Each inductee represents not only personal achievement, but a broader commitment to uplifting others and driving meaningful change within systems and communities.
How Inductees Are Chosen
Each year, community members, local organizations, and professionals from across the state submit nominations. A selection committee reviews these submissions and chooses eight individuals whose work shows measurable positive impact, strong character, and a commitment to helping others succeed. This process ensures that the Great 8 truly reflects leaders who are making meaningful change.
Why Their Work Matters
These leaders show what is possible when opportunity, accountability, and community support come together. Their stories help shift narratives and inspire hope across Connecticut.
